The bowl is made of a mediapan plywood whose geometric characteristics do not change regardless of external influences such as humidity and temperature.
The surface of the bowl is veneered and has 12 coats of varnish to make it more hard wearing.
Bearings are the of the best quality on the market. Radial ball bearings are mounted on the spindle.
The wheel has two bearings. One is a double-row, flexible ball bearing that is mounted at the upper end of the spindle. This one bears the entire weight of the rotor. The other is a single-row ball bearing and is mounted at the lower end of the spindle.
Our experts have developed, tested and verified an adequate combination and quantity of grease which contributes to the longevity of the bearings and an appropriate deceleration. No additional greasing is required.
The ball track is made of kerrock, a slippery mass that does not wear out and does not change its geometric characteristics according to external influences.
The canoes are made of brass. They are protected using a acuum-based PVD (physical vapour deposition) coating technique. A PVD titanium nitride coating makes any metal virtually indestructible.
The numbers ring is made of different materials. The centre is made of mediapan, whilst the outer and inner rings are made of kerrock.
A protective foil with numbers is glued onto mediapan and covered by plexi-glass. This prevents wearing out of numbers.
Important
The cone has been carefully designed and has a capstan (for French roulette tables only).
A brass washer prevents damages to the wooden parts of the cone that could occur during mounting on the rotor. The washer also ensures the correct position of the cone.
Special note:
The cone represents the Istrian Shavrinka.
Shavrinkas were Istrian women living in villages on the Shavrini hills of the Slovenian Istria. They are known for their head baskets, in which they transported home-made goodies to Trieste, for sale in the marketplace or door-to-door. They started their journey early in the morning and came back only late in the evening. However, instead of going to bed after a day�s work, they started baking bread to take it to Trieste the next day.
